Text from the series “Holistic Healing Chronicles: Nourishing Your Body, Mind, and Soul for Lasting Wellness” by Nisarga Eryk Dobosz.
Greetings to all fellow seekers of healing and self-discovery,
As a Biodynamic Breathwork, Compassionate Inquiry and Biodynamic Craniosacral practitioner with extensive experience in the field, I am deeply moved by the profound potential of the Felt Sense in our journey towards rediscovering ourselves and reclaiming our true essence.
Within each of us resides a treasure trove of memories from past experiences, intricately woven, not just in our minds but also in the very fabric of our bodies. In the wake of traumatic events, we often find ourselves dissociating from these memories and sensations, creating a disconnection from our authentic selves.
When we work with trauma, comprehending its significance is paramount in our pursuit of healing and self-awareness. Traumatic experiences can fragment parts of our psyche, leading to a profound estrangement from our bodies and emotions. The Felt Sense emerges as a guiding light, offering a transformative pathway back home to ourselves.
The essence of the Felt Sense lies in our innate ability to perceive and connect with the subtle sensations and emotions dwelling within our bodies. By delving into this wondrous realm, we open doors to regain sensitivity, heal old wounds, and expand the window of tolerance within our nervous system.
Feeling, dear friends, becomes the key to reclaiming our sense of self and nurturing a profound connection with our innermost being. As we embark on the gentle journey of trauma work, we are called to embrace a compassionate and patient approach, gracefully navigating the pendulum between places of emotional charge and inner resource. Through this delicate process, we build resilience and integrate our emotions step by step.
Guided by the art of pendulation, we learn to oscillate between feelings of overwhelm and safety, gracefully navigating the complexities of trauma. Likewise, titration empowers us to take manageable steps in exploring the territory of our emotions, preventing retraumatization and fostering a supportive healing space.
But remember, the magic of the Felt Sense is not exclusive to therapeutic sessions. You can engage in self-practice too…
Now, close your eyes, sit comfortably, and watch your breath. Observe the sensations in your body. It’s as simple as that. Enjoy this quiet space and listen closely to the messages from your innermost forgotten core.
The Felt Sense leads us back to a state of fully integrated existence, where we reconnect our body, mind, and heart in harmonious unity. This newfound awareness allows us to hold any experience in the present moment without being overwhelmed, cultivating a profound sense of self-trust and inner peace.
In traversing this gentle journey, we are blessed with the opportunity to unearth the innermost forgotten parts of ourselves—fragments that hold sacred wisdom and intimate connection to our inner truth. As we tap into this wellspring of resilience, we reveal the innate beauty and strength within.
Let us wholeheartedly embrace the magic of the Felt Sense, allowing its transformative power to lead us to the core of our being—an inner sanctum of truth, love, and healing. This sacred exploration paves the way for our triumphant return home to our bodies, souls, and the essence of who we truly are.
May the journey of rediscovering ourselves through the Felt Sense be one of profound transformation and awakening.
With heartfelt compassion and dedication,
